This time-honored tradition allows visitors to witness a traditional Native American festival, a boat parade, and a street parade. Other Chasco activities include, the Coronation Ball, an award winning beef barbecue, nightly concerts in the park, a carnival including a midway and rides, golf & softball tournaments, flea market & arts and crafts village, as well a 5k race.
Due to the nature of this event, there are no age group awards. Each finisher will receive a Chasco Main Street Mile finisher medal upon crossing the finish line. Medals will not be mailed, and only participants that complete the run will be eligible to receive a medal.
The first person in each category that breaks the current record will win $100.00. If the winner is in school, a donation will be made to the athletic department to maintain amateur status. Please visit the records page for current course records and categories.
Each participant that registers on or before March 1, 2016 will be guaranteed the Chasco Main Street Mile t-shirt. All other participants that register after the date will take the chance of not receiving the shirt size of choice or receiving a shirt.
The marathon challenge is designed for running groups and elementary schools. Please be sure that your school or group is officially signed up for the Marathon Challenge before registering.
Parking for the event is scarce because of the Parade. Please give yourself plenty of time to find parking and be at the Staging Area on time.
Staging for the Chasco Main Street Mile will be at The Schwettman Education Center. The actual start of the race is approx. 1/4 mile North on Grand Blvd. Due to road closures, make sure that you are at the Staging Location no later than 12:00.
